Stone Henge progressed from a simple silhouette to a more realistic version. the bottom of the painting is bounded on the edges with corner frames. The base is the world of men, our version of reality.
To the left are ancient Goddess symbols -- The moon phases, the cow, three triskellions. To the right are masculine symbols-- dragons and stallions.
Crossing the boundaries of male and female are the hounds and various forms of knotwork, the changes in color are the only indications of which realm they belong to. My own version of the Greenman peers from the branches of the pines and the spiral of the feminine crosses to the right side, it’s the crossing of boundaries, the yin and the yang the dark and the light.
